I heart libraries

Erica and I at our old University Library

...do you ever just wander through the library and thumb through books you dream of reading one day, listen to the tapping of pencils, and feel minuscule against the backdrop of millions of written words?

I loved this create-your-own library call card site. Ever tried it?

i love libraries, her ein England they are closing a lot of them and i think its a terrible loss. I have ofen gone and just sat, and read the paper, and people watched. Our library now has a cafe that is run by the council and gives people with special needs work experience.x

Hey, I'll wander into any building that has books: libraries, bookstores, thrift stores. I love the smell, feel, and surprise inscriptions/markings of real books. Paperbacks are my fave. You'll often find me sitting in aisles, scanning, imaging what each story says and mentality adding titles to my "must read" list And yes, I'm usually in people's way. But bookstores are like my museums, there's always something to see and I can usually get in for free ;)

I LOVE libraries, and I LOVE old books. Okay, this is really weird but I love how old books smell. They have so much history and it's fun to imagine all those who read the book.

There is nothing better than a good library and fabulous old books! My parents found an old cookbook from my alma mater they put out in the 30s in a tiny bookstore in SOuth Florida on a vacation once. How it got there I have no idea but I absolutely cherish it!

In my old neighborhood in Chicago, I lived about 4 blocks away from the library. I would wander through the stacks and just check stuff out whenever I could. I love doing that in bookstores too, though they're becoming harder to find. I've always dreamed of having a library all my own, like the one in Beauty and the Beast!!

That card generator thing is so cool!! I love libraries too...they're so comforting, somehow. Maybe it's the quiet?

I ADORE libraries!! My mum used to drop me off at the library when I was younger while she went grocery shopping. It was perfect.

I think I'm seen that library call card before but I will have to check it out again. x

Libraries are so cozy and fabulous to me. I could spend days in a library. I loved to go to my university library in college, to tuck myself away on the 3rd floor and get lost in my studies. The sounds are so soothing...whispers and taps and pages turning. LOVE this post. :)

In my entire 4...uh 5...years of college I went to the library once. :\

I've got to say... I feel the same way (minuscule against the backdrop of millions of written words) when I'm in a library or bookstore. I just love love love books!

Never seen the create-your-own library call card website before. That quote on your call card is a good one! Happy Friday, friend. (:

My library stopped using cards and stamps in favor of a computerized system years ago, and I miss the cards. I always liked to see the last date a book was checked out... I liked to find ones that hadn't been in years and years.

That looks neat, I'll have to check out the link :)

Now that I think of it, I haven't been to a library in a long, long time. Thanks for this post. I'm going to the library sometime this week!

I love libraries. But sometimes when I think about all the millions of words and books I'll never read, it does feel absolutely overwhelming. I know there's no way I can possibly read all of the books I want to... Life is just too short. But I love to think maybe I could :) The make your own library card site sounds kind of amazing- I'm on my way right now!

I love this. I adore libraries.

We hope to have our own library in our house one day, filled with old books and cosy arm chairs :)

I need to look into this--I have a sick obsession and love for libraries and library books. I recently got a NOOK and it's just not the same...although it is pretty cool :). Thank you so much for your sweet post on my blog. I love meeting new blog friends too. It's so nice to hear that other people are going through the same things as me--sometimes I forget and think I am just stranded by myself. I am definitely going to take your advice--I think passion is the way to go!

Oooh me too. I have the most beautiful mid-century designed library just down the street and I don't go there enough! My mom was a librarian too, so they will always feel like home to me. Loving your blog, my dear! :) xo
