This weekend was a total girls weekend. And, oh how I needed that.
We curled hair for dance recitals, had fun going to dance recitals, then of course celebrated the dance recital by going out dancing! And, you should know, this girl can't turn down a reason to shake it.
I'm realizing more and more how deep my roots are growing into this small down. This is the first time I've felt sad about digging those roots up and temporarily transplanting them to Australian ground for my teaching term this fall.
I feel like that will be a bit more painful than I thought when I made the decision--drunk with excitement of adventure. But, I suppose, it's good to plant little seeds of experience all over this world. And this week made me excited to return from Aus and cultivate my small-town-BC roots some more.

Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend! So great!
Yeah, you never really realize how much you're connected until you have to disconnect for a time. Thank goodness for skype!

Your roots will always be there. And after being gone for a while, you'll appreciate them even more when you return!

Just picking up and moving away from a place you've grown to love is hard to do, but I think it's great to get out and get a fresh start, with new places and people - you are going to have a great adventure!

Girl, you're going to plant/sow some great seeds when you're in Australia. You're going to meet so many people and maybe even change a few lives!
Drunk with adventure - I love that line :) Sounds like a wonderful weekend with the girls!

I know that you will have the time of your life when your in Australia, soak up the opportunity you have!
The neat thing about setting down roots in a town is that you can always return and have a place to call home. No matter how far your adventures take you! I think you're going to have a blast in Australia - you're taking us with you, right? Bloggerifically speaking, of course. :)

Having deep roots somewhere does make it difficult to leave... sadly, I think that's why it was so easy for my husband and me to leave Denver. We didn't really have roots there, but we're really hoping to have them somewhere that we can call home.
Australia would be such a great experience. It will only make the roots you place everywhere else that much deeper! (:
yey for adventure!!
making big changes/transitions definitely have their share of sadness and fear. my first night in san francisco, on the complete opposite side of the country from my family and friends, where i knew no one and had no home/job, i cried myself to sleep. i thought "ah!! what have i done?!" but the next morning i woke up and began my life. it was the best thing i ever did! i'm sure you'll have an incredible time on this next adventure, even though it will be hard to leave your loved ones and current way of life. luckily we have skype now {there was no skype when i moved far away - weird!}.
Sounds like a fun weekend! I've moved around a lot and it's always hard to leave home, but it sounds like you have a new and exciting adventure awaiting you, good luck!

I think your little seeds of experience all over this world will flourish and grow...and you will be happy that you embarked upon this amazing adventure. You will be fine and have SO much fun! I just know it.
Yay! I'm so happy you decided to go to Australia! Seriously, it'll be a huge adventure and home will always be there. :) Yay for dance recitals! So fun!
When will you be in Australia? And where are you going exactly?

It's always hard to leave but so amazing to come back home after some adventures :) Teaching in Australia sounds like an amazing experience, I can't wait to follow along!
So you decided to go to Australia?!! :D I'm so excited for you! I'm sure it's going to be difficult to leave your hometown at first but just think of how amazing it'll be once you're home again with a new experience.
